Lake Joseph: clear water and room to breathe.
Clear water, long granite shorelines and quiet bays at the northwest end of the Big Three. I help Toronto families find the right place on Lake Joe, and help owners sell with care when it's time.
About Lake Joseph
Lake Joseph is one of Muskoka’s Big Three lakes, along with Lake Rosseau and Lake Muskoka. Locals call it Lake Joe. It’s known for clear water, windswept pines, granite points and long stretches of shoreline.
Lake Joseph connects to Lake Rosseau at Port Sandfield, and from Rosseau you can continue through the Port Carling locks to Lake Muskoka. Around the lake are Port Sandfield, Foot’s Bay and Gordon Bay.
I spent more than five years as a custom home builder in Muskoka and Toronto. On Lake Joe I look past the view: shoreline, exposure, the condition of the boathouse and docks, and how you’ll actually reach the property in May and October.
Cottage types and value factors
Explore water-access and island properties, three-season cottages and winterized waterfront homes. Frontage, exposure, access, water depth and the condition of the buildings all affect value.
